View of proposed new clubhouse, updated since public consultation in 2022
Welcome!
Barnet Elizabethans Rugby Football Club is moving forward with the exciting plans to renew and replace our existing clubhouse and playing pitches at Byng Road, allowing us to provide modern, fit-for-purpose facilities for the whole community to enjoy.
We were granted planning permission in July 2024 and, since then, have been working with the London Borough of Barnet to discharge the relevant planning conditions - we have also been getting ready to deliver the construction works.
The overall scheme is being phased over several years so that we can offer rugby and community sport continuously. For example, grass rugby pitches take an entire year to 'grow-in' and be ready for play, so replacing them all at once would mean closing the club completely for at least an entire rugby season.
The first phase of works will take place between May and July 2025. This will comprise upgrading of the two northern pitches, including levelling, drainage, seeding and the replacement of the existing floodlights. Subsequent phases will be delivered in future years.
Further information on this phase, including Frequently Asked Questions, can be found by clicking the menu tabs above.
If you have any queries about the works or would like to sign up for updates, please go to the Contact Us page and complete the form there. Alternatively, you can email hello@berfcproposals.co.uk or call 0800 772 0475.
We will continue to keep this website updated throughout this phase of the works and would like to apologies for any inconvenience they may cause - we will try hard to keep any potential disruption to an absolute minimum.
